Some 400 Lindenwood students, faculity and staff took part in the Human Chain Book Brigade to move 50 books from the old Butler Library built in 1929 to the new Lindenwood Library and Academic Resources Center (LARC) which was just completed by Blanton Construction. This commemorative event was followed by a tour for all participants of the new 100,000 square foot library and learning facility. With classes starting soon, everyone is anxious to see how the students and faculty like the new building and all of the amenities provided to enrich the learning experience.
Grand Opening of Arby’s at Lindenwood Commons
Blanton Construction wrapped up the work on the Arby’s at Lindenwood Commons at the end of June 2017 and on July the 11th 2017, Arby’s celebrated their “official” Grand Opening. All went exceptionally well on this project and the construction manager & owner were very happy with the finished project. Anyone who enjoys eating at Arby’s will be delighted this new facility has much easier access as opposed to their previous location near the intersection of First Capitol Dr. and Hwy 70. 2017 Global Awards for Excellence as Selected by the Urban Land Institute
Twenty-five extraordinary developments from around the world have been selected as finalists for the 2017 Global Awards for Excellence as selected by the Urban Land Institute (ULI) for the best development and use of urban land. Two of these twenty-five projects had major construction participation by one long time St. Louis area construction firm – Blanton Construction.
The two projects that were in this elite listing from around the globe are Ballpark Village, adjacent to Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals in downtown St. Louis and Brickell City Centre in Miami. The stats on these projects are as follows:
Ballpark Village – Developer: The Cordish Companies, Designer: Design Collective, Jeffrey Beers International. On this project Blanton Construction was responsible for over half of the interior finish. The venues completed by Blanton are: Live Nation, the centerpiece and main gathering area; Fox Sports Midwest; PBR a Cowboy Bar; the Budweiser Brew House Restaurant and the Budweiser Beer Garden and Roof Top Deck.
Brickell City Centre- Developer: Swire Properties, Inc. Designer: Arquitectionica. This entire development was estimated to be worth over one billion dollars when complete and encompass 5.4 million square feet including 565,000 square feet of retail shopping. Blanton Construction completed the gorgeous 105,000 square foot, three story flagship Saks Fifth Avenue store which is the retail anchor and opened in November of 2016.
Blanton was thrilled to work with such prestigious architects and designers on these two properties and everyone will be anxious to see the winners when they are announced in October 2017 at the ULI Fall meeting in Los Angeles. Ribbon Cutting for Midwest Bank Centre at Lindenwood Commons St. Charles, MO
In January 2016 Midwest Bank Centre announced plans to open two new branches. One in St. Charles and the other in N. St. Louis.
The bank partnered with Lindenwood University & Friendly Temple Missionary Baptist Church on the two branches. The North St. Louis branch at 5500 Dr. Martin Luther King Drive in the Wells- Goodfellow neighborhood opened 4/7/2017. The newest Midwest Bank Centre was built by Blanton Construction, Inc. at 1820 First Capitol Drive within the Lindenwood Commons mixed use development just celebrated its ribbon cutting on Tuesday May 16, 2017.
Chairman & CEO Jim Watson said, “Both branches will round out our community presence and continue building our success in serving St. Louis ‘unbanked’ and ‘underbanked’ citizens.” We congratulate Midwest Bank Centre and wish them much success at this and all of their locations.

Just as technology has all of us responding to needs and each other more quickly, the Lindenwood Library & Academic Resource Center (LARC) will be able to adapt, respond, and change with the continuing needs and growth of the Lindenwood University student population.
The LARC is one part library, one part classroom, one part historical archive and one part media production center all rolled up together with current technology and a healthy mix of art, athletics, and student socialization and interaction. Yes, the LARC will have it all, including climate responsive glass and a branded coffee shop where students, friends, and family can meet.

Happy Hounds Playground Grand Opening May 1, 2017
The largest dog park in all of Metro St. Louis is opening on May 1, 2017 in Wildwood, Mo. Yes, Happy Hounds Playground is open for viewing and enjoyment by dogs large & small. The park is a full 10 acres and dogs who love to swim will enjoy that it even has a pond for swimming and not to mention, an awesome dock for getting a good running start to that big leap into the pond. There is also a “splash & play” area along with dog washing stations. Young and old pups and their human companions are sure to find the new Happy Hounds Playground Paws-A-Tively awesome. Saks Fifth Avenue within the Brickell City Centre in Miami, Florida
Blanton is working on the Saks Fifth Avenue which will reside within the 1.05 billion dollar mixed use development called Brickell City Centre. Strategically located in the center of the Brickell financial district, this is the single largest project currently underway in downtown Miami. Brickell City Centre is anticipated to bring a whole new level of urban living and sophistication to the area.
