Like Construction Management, Design-Build is a construction delivery method that provides the owner with one single point of contact for both the design and the construction phase of the project. There is one, single source of contractual risk and responsibility for each and every part of the build, including estimating, assessments, pre-construction, architecture, schematics, all of the engineering, and subcontracting along with delivery of any post-construction documentation needs, warranties and follow-up. With this delivery method, your Design Builder will manage all of the contacts with all of the aforementioned entities along with managing the contracts for any equipment needed or materials to be used on the site.
Over the years we have found that this building method is preferred by many in the medical and dental field. Their standards for quality are top notch and they rely on us as the Design Builder to know our trade inside and out and to make all of the appropriate choices with their best interests in mind. Our goal is to eliminate any “potential headaches” that owners are afraid may happen if they decide to build. This gives us the total responsibility and we will deliver the total project to your exacting specifications.
Examples of this Design Build portfolio include:
- Midwest Ear, Nose and Throat: This specialty doctor's practice was built for a very well known and respected ENT physician who wanted a building to meet his very specific needs with rooms especially outfitted for audiology testing and other clinical needs.
- Devita Dialysis: The comfort of the patient receiving dialysis was at the heart of this project. Dialysis is an ongoing process and the owner was emphatic that the building be comfortable and welcoming as well as efficient for his staff in administering treatment to patients.
- Pieper Hill Medical Offices and Surgery Center: This medical office building and outpatient surgery center was built for a very well known and respected surgeon in the St. Charles County area. He had been in practice for years in another building and was frustrated by what seemed to be poor planning of that facility. That’s why he contacted Blanton Construction to do a Design Build Project for him and we spent weeks with him going over ever detail of exactly what he wanted so that his building could perform as expertly as he does.
