Blanton Construction is very happy to announce that we were selected to do the renovation work on the NCG Theatre located in Alton, IL at the Alton Square Mall. This is what’s called a “full gut remodel” and we just began the demolition phase this week. It’s going to look amazing when complete and provide a superior movie viewing experience as well as an upgraded food & beverage service area because what’s an awesome movie without delicious snacks? Please check back from time to time in order to see various stages of the construction process.
T-Rex project almost complete
I had promised more photos as the floor received the final artistic work and then coated and sealed with a very high gloss finish. We think this floor finish compliments the historic beams & other reclaimed wood in this building, adding a very modern flair to the 4th floor at T-Rex. Blanton Construction has very much enjoyed being part of this project in what we still refer to as “the ultimate in recycling”. The gorgeous wood shown here has been restored to its former glory and now lives again in this project. We hope this space brings functionality and beauty to all who work here for years to come.
T-Rex comes together as a perfect mix of old & new.
From uncovering the beautiful wooden ceilings, beams and support boasts to installing all of the modern glass elements and lighting, this project has been a feast for the eyes. The quality of the wood in the ceilings and other wood work that had been covered under layers of paint and drywall, receiving new life has been the “ultimate recycling project”. The vision of the architectural design firm adding all of the glass and other modern elements really makes for the perfect blend of old and new in this space. We think the client and all those who visit T-Rex are really going to enjoy this space and we are very happy about that. In this particular photo it’s hard to believe that the shine on the floor is only the first coat and the floor is going to look even better when completed! Be sure to check back soon to see this project after all of the fixtures have been installed. We think it’s going to be awesome!
Grand Opening of World’s Larges White Castle takes place 10-23-19 near Scottsdale, AZ
The “World’s Largest White Castle” is now officially open near Scottsdale, AZ. The Grand Opening was packed as you can see here and at one point White Castle was forced to implement a “60-slider limit” on customers after several customers had ordered burgers “hundreds at a time”, as was reported by ABC Channel 15 in AZ. Thank you White Castle for letting us continue our long tradition of building restaurants for you and we are honored to be part of making history with you! This particular White Castle is 4,589 square feet and at this point is the World’s Largest ever White Castle and the ONLY White Castle in the state of Arizona. If the popularity of this location is any indication of how much folks in AZ love sliders, we may need to build more White Castles soon so that people can continue to “feed their Crave”!
New concept for Oberweis coming to O’Fallon, MO.
This is a rendering of what the new concept for Oberweis will look like when it opens in O’Fallon, MO. In the St. Louis, MO metro area we are pretty familiar with and love the Oberweis Dairy with its great selection of ice cream and milk products, however this new concept from Oberweis includes burgers and pizza as well! Yes, the new Oberweis location in O’Fallon, MO will feature not only the wildly popular Oberweis Dairy but also will have options for the burger and pizza lover as well. As you will not on this artist rendering, this new location features “That Burger Joint” and “Woodgrain Pizza” as well. The location is very convenient to the intersection of Mexico Rd. and Highway K and it’s less than two miles from the intersection of Hwy K and Interstate 70. Blanton Construction is very pleased to be building this new concept for Oberweis and we look forward to posting progress photos along the way.
Go West They Said!
White Castle is now in Scottsdale, AZ! Blanton Construction is wrapping up the first White Castle to be built in Arizona and the Grand Opening is slated for October the 23rd, 2019. You’ll notice by the photo that this White Castle looks a lot different from what we are accustomed to in the Midwest, but it looks great in the desert surroundings and we hope that it will be hugely successful for the owners. Take a look at the new White Castle built by Blanton Construction in Scottsdale, AZ. Does your business have a new concept to be built? Call us, we can help!
QT Opens in St. Peters
The Grand Re-Opening of the QuikTrip located at the intersection of Hwy 70 and Mid Rivers Mall Drive in St. Peters, MO opened this morning (7-25-19) at 5am. This was a full “scrape and rebuild” project, which required us to remove all of the old fuel tanks and lines and demolish the store and other existing structures and build everything new. People who frequent this particular QuikTrip often will be very pleased to find a bigger store with a greater variety of products and the very popular QT Kitchen. There still are separate entrances and cashiers for the semi-truck diesel fuel patrons and the automotive fuel customers and with the new counter configuration, you should find your time in line waiting in line to be less.
The “Ultimate in Old is New Again” at T-Rex
This building is now called T-Rex but it’s also known on the National Historic Registry as the Lammert Building. Located in downtown St. Louis, MO this gorgeous 8 story building was completed in 1898. We at Blanton Construction are thrilled to be working at this location and doing what we like to refer to as “the ultimate in recycling and making what’s old, new again.” Look at the fabulous wooden ceilings that have been uncovered from under ugly, dated, drop ceilings and will be restored to their former glory. The same is true of the columns in the building. The mix of old and new will bring this building into the 21st century and make it a productive work space again.
QuikTrip in St. Peters, MO nearing completion
Sign installation in progress at QuikTrip just off Highway 70 at the Mid Rivers Mall Drive exit in St. Peters, MO. This full “scrape and rebuild” project is now nearing completion. This will be welcome news to those of us who stop at this particular location frequently because we work in the area, but also, I’m certain over the road truck drivers have missed this very convenient and friendly place to stop while it has been closed. I’ll be posting news about a Grand Re-Opening date very soon, so please keep watching.
